The Start
Red River Game Farm and Kennel was established in 1970 by Rick and Mary Van Bergen. We are located in Hugo, Minnesota which is 27 miles north of St. Paul Minnesota. We are principally a breeding kennel with started and trained dogs available on a limited basis.
All of our females are hip, elbow and eye certified. They also are titled or qualified all-age. We only breed from lines that are genetically clean. Our bitches are bred only to titled, well know sires. Our goal is to produce dogs that we feel could reach National level talent. Puppies we produce have a strong desire to retrieve and the willingness to please.
Red River Game Farm & Kennel is the present Home of FC-AFC Crow Rivers Cougars BP Maggs (Maggie). Maggie is 12 years old and enjoying retirement. We have bred numerous Field Champions and have had several qualified all age, derby list and hunt test titled dogs. Past Field Champions include FC/AFC Lone Star JR and AFC Cody's Scooter.
